Cilantro and Chive Burger of the Month

Support CASASC by “smashing” your way through the July Burger of the Month at Cilantro and Chive Red Deer.

CASASC has been selected as the charity for July by guest chefs Matt and Andy Cassidy of Excel Beyond Insurance.

Created in collaboration, the burger of the month is called the Summer Smash – an Alberta beef smash patty, dill lime aioli, house pulled pork with Grizzly Paw black cherry BBQ sauce, a grilled pineapple ring, shredded iceberg with jalapeño arugula aioli on brioche bun.

Two dollars from every Summer Smash sold goes directly back to CASASC.

Thank you for selecting us Matt and Andy and helping us bring the message of creating a culture of respect wherever we go.

Why we wear orange

CASASC reaffirms the statement that every child matters.
We honour the 215 children who were found at the Kamloops Residential School, their families and our community who is grieving at this time. We chose to wear our orange Made to Respect t-shirts today (May 31) as a visual symbol of our awareness of the need for ongoing reconciliation and accountability. We encourage you to seek further information about the experiences of Indigenous people, especially in regards to residential schooling.
We are here to support our community during this time. If you need support, we have our 24/7 Sexual Violence Help Line by phone at 1 866 956 1099 or by webchat at www.casasc.ca
You can also reach the National Indian Residential School Crisis Line by phone 1-866-925-4419

Warm apples, buttery pecans and ice cream make this a delicious and easy finale to any Sunday family dinner, or any rainy afternoon!

Self-care can take many forms, and the occasional indulgence is one of them. So, grab a warm blanket, a bowl, and nestle away on the couch and indulge in a cozy comfort food dessert and your favourite TV show or movie.

iRespect Myself, iNourish My Body – Recipe 3

The third recipe in our weekly self-care, iRespect Myself, iNourish My Body recipe series is an easy sheet pan dinner idea that only takes fifteen minutes of prep time and contains salmon, one of the best sources of Omega 3 fatty acids. These fatty acids contain many benefits such as improved brain, skin, hair and overall health in general.

So, for this week’s self-care recipe, spend less time in the kitchen and more time outside getting some fresh air, going for a walk, or any other self-care ritual you enjoy. Cooking shouldn’t have to be difficult or time consuming to be healthy.

iRespect Myself, iNourish My Body – Recipe 2

The second recipe in our weekly self-care, iRespect Myself, iNourish My Body recipe series is brought to you by Ressie, CASASC’s resident iRespect unicorn. Ressie shares with us a great kids recipe for delicious quesadillas (what kid doesn’t love quesadillas?!).

Taking time to slow down and cook with our loved ones is another way to practice self-care, but also, a great way to spend time with one another and promote feelings of love and togetherness.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your adult helper and let’s get cooking.
