Healthy Relationships + Consent enables and empowers students to make well-informed, considered decisions and choices by giving them the tools to have healthy relationships.
Delivered in: two-parts, 60 minutes each, can be adapted to any length to suite classroom needs.
What you can expect: Age appropriate delivery in a classroom setting with interactive content, including conversations and short videos.
Students will learn about:
•The signs and behaviours of a healthy relationship
•Safety around ‘sexting’ and other digital sharing methods
•What is sexual assault, harassment and abuse
•The supports available to survivors, family members and friends
•Consent and coercion
•Sexual and dating violence
•The legal age of consent
Healthy Relationships + Consent helps students recognize the signs and behaviours associated with a healthy and unhealthy relationship while providing interactive and informative classroom discussions. It follows the outcomes of Alberta Education’s CALM curriculum. This health-promoting course provides opportunities for students to gain knowledge and insight, and to acquire essential life skills. It is relevant to the needs of students today and in the future.
What it’s not: Sexual education or “sex ed.” The program’s aim is strictly prevention.
