They call this a “happiness quiz,” instead of a depression test, because you can take it to estimate how happy you are, and especially to learn how you can become happier. This quiz, which is based on hundreds of recent scientific studies, focuses on lifestyles and habits that strongly relate to long-term happiness or Psychological Well-Being. Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink

[et_pb_section][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_image admin_label=”Image” src=”https://casasc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Image-for-birdies-for-kids-banner.png” show_in_lightbox=”on” url_new_window=”off” animation=”left” sticky=”off” /][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][et_pb_blurb admin_label=”Blurb” title=”How Does it Work?” url_new_window=”off” use_icon=”off” icon_color=”#7EBEC5″ use_circle=”off” circle_color=”#7EBEC5″ use_circle_border=”off” circle_border_color=”#7EBEC5″ icon_placement=”top” animation=”top” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left”]

Donors can either make a one-time flat donation or a pledge of $0.01 or more for each birdie made by Champions Tour players during the 2015 Shaw Charity Classic which takes place August 7th – 9th.

[/et_pb_blurb][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][et_pb_blurb admin_label=”Blurb” title=”What is a Birdie?” url_new_window=”off” use_icon=”off” icon_color=”#7EBEC5″ use_circle=”off” circle_color=”#7EBEC5″ use_circle_border=”off” circle_border_color=”#7EBEC5″ icon_placement=”top” animation=”top” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left”]

In golf, a ‘birdie’ is a score of one stroke better than ‘par’ for any golf hole on the course. ‘Par’ is the expected score of a golf professional on any given hole. For example, on a par 4, a score of 3 is a birdie.

In 2013, there were 1,000 birdies at the Shaw Charity Classic, and in 2014 there were 892 made.

We estimate 900 birdies will be made during the 2015 Shaw Charity Classic.

[/et_pb_blurb][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][et_pb_blurb admin_label=”Blurb” title=”The Best Part!!” url_new_window=”off” use_icon=”off” icon_color=”#7EBEC5″ use_circle=”off” circle_color=”#7EBEC5″ use_circle_border=”off” circle_border_color=”#7EBEC5″ icon_placement=”top” animation=”top” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left”]

The most exciting part of the program comes together from various corporate supporters with AltaLink being the Founding Partner.

For every dollar raised by each charity, up to 50% will be matched. This means that if you give a one-time flat donation of $50, up to an additional $25 will be given.

[/et_pb_blurb][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][et_pb_blurb admin_label=”Blurb” title=”How Do I Donate?” url_new_window=”off” use_icon=”off” icon_color=”#7EBEC5″ use_circle=”off” circle_color=”#7EBEC5″ use_circle_border=”off” circle_border_color=”#7EBEC5″ icon_placement=”top” animation=”top” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left”]

You can donate today by clicking the link below. When it asks you to select your charity, you can select the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre.

http://shawcharityclassic.com/birdies-for-kids.php

If you prefer to donate in person, feel free to stop by the Centre and ask for our Birdies for Kids Official Donation Card. This will allow you to pay by cash, cheque or via credit card.

All donations paid by cheque must be made out to Calgary Shaw Charity Classic Foundation in order to ensure that the charity also receives the matching amount.

Provided below is a link to a personal experience story that has melted our hearts here at CASASC. If you take the time to read the whole page, you will gain a better understanding of the hardships women of abuse face. Sarafina, the narrator, tells us 5 things that she as an abused woman wants you to know. They include:

“I’m not weak.”

“Abuse rearranged my beliefs. Yours are only yours. Don’t try to pawn them off on me.”

“Dating isn’t the answer.”

“I won’t get over it…soon.”

“Never ask me why I stayed.”

However to gain a better understanding we at CASASC highly advise that you take the time to read about her experience. Let’s stop blaming the victim, and start noticing how strong they truly are!
