Phone - Crisis Line Volunteer

In this volunteer position, you will get a crisis phone call forwarded to your own phone during your shift.

You would be providing crisis support for those affected by sexual assault. These may include emergency or historical situations. We provide referrals and a listening ear.

Applicants must be very compassionate, reliable and supportive. They need to be 18 years of age with a clean criminal record check.

Training is provided.

Shifts run from:

  • Midnight to 8 a.m.
  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (on weekends or on holidays)
  • 4 p.m. to midnight

Web Chat / Text - Crisis Line Volunteer

We use a web based system that lets our volunteers answer any incoming texts or web chats from the comfort of their own computer.

***We are specifically looking for volunteers to work the midnight to 8 a.m. shift.***

You would be providing crisis support for those affected by sexual assault. These may include emergency or historical situations. We provide referrals and a listening ear.

Applicants must be very compassionate, reliable and supportive. They need to be 18 years of age with a clean criminal record check, and access to their own computer or laptop with internet connection.

Training is provided!

Shifts run from:

  • Midnight to 8 a.m.
  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (on weekends or on holidays)
  • 4 p.m. to midnight

Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Member

SART members provide 24 hour hospital accompaniment and support for victims of sexual assault.

SART offers support to the victims and their loved ones who have been brought into the RD hospital in an emergency situation.

Proper support and guidance is provided by the SART to get the victim into the CASASC for further support and future healing.

Shifts run from:

  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • 4 p.m. – 8 a.m.
